Question:

Is tft_espi not driving the esp32 7" screen no matter how he writes the code?

Answer:

The TFT_eSPI library doesn't support our 7" boards for now, so we need to rewrite the code, but the good news is that most of the function names and the usage of the TFT_eSPI library are the same as the lovyanGFX library, so it doesn't need to be modified much.

First, you need to put the driver configuration code for the lovyanGFX library in the project directory (code link:

https://github.com/Elecrow-RD/CrowPanel-ESP32-Display-Course-File/blob/main/CrowPanel_ESP32_Tutorial/Code/V2.X/Lesson%206%20Design%20UI%20with%20Squareline%20Studio/4.3-5-7inch/CrowPanel_ESP32_LVGL_Demo/gfx_conf.h)

Next, change the macros in gfx_conf.h to the ones used in 7“

Then, go back to the code you wrote and remove the function that declares the TFT_eSPI entity, e.g.:

TFT_eSPI lcd = TFT_eSPI(); /* TFT entity */

Finally, since I declared the entity of the LGFX to be tft, you need to change all entities named ‘lcd’ to tft [image] from:[image] to:[image] or you can just change the entities named ”lcd" to tft [image] from:[image] to:[image] or you can just change them to tft [image] in the code you wrote. All the entities named "lcd" in your code should be changed to tft[image]from:[image]to:[image]

Or you can just change "LGFX tft" to "LGFX lcd" in gfx_conf.h file, you don't need to change so many "LGFX lcd" in gfx_conf.h file, you don't need to change so many "LGFX lcd". or you can just change “LGFX tft” to “LGFX lcd” in the gfx_conf.h file, then you don't need to modify so many "lcd.

Question:

Why do the (+) and (-) keys only work with screen brightness?

Answer:

We designed the (+) and (-) buttons to be used to adjust the screen brightness only. Too many ways to adjust the volume may be confusing to users, so adjusting the volume through the system or applications is considered a better way.

The latest CrowPi2 User Manual has been updated accordingly.

Question:

A few months ago I bought a 7" and a 5" ESP32 display on Order # 240530. I have used several of these displays and they all worked perfectly. I didn't have time to try these devices. I tested them today. The 5" worked perfectly but the 7" will not make a WiFi connection. The exact same firmware on one of my 7" displays from a previous order works perfectly but the new one will not make a connection.

Answer:

The codes for 7-inch and 5-inch products are different and cannot be mixed. Please refer to the example/demo code on our wiki website (https://www.elecrow.com/pub/wiki/) for the specific differences.

You can search the product name on the wiki website to find the corresponding information/code for each product.

Product: ESP32 Advance Display 7 inch SKU: DIS02170A
Question:

I bought ESP32 Advance Display-7 which indicate V1.2 on back. It seems example code in wiki does not work because ic u7 is changed. Is there right code and documents?

Answer:

1. The difference between the two versions of hardware(version 1.2 and version 1.0) is that the new version supports brightness adjustment.

2. We have put the factory program of the new version on github, the link is as follows:

     https://github.com/Elecrow-RD/CrowPanel-Advance-7-HMI-ESP32-S3-AI-Powered-IPS-Touch-Screen-800x480/tree/master/example/Advance_7.0_test_factory_V1_2

    3. Currently our course programs are suitable for the old version of hardware. The course programs for the new version of hardware need to be modified according to this factory program, and we will update them later.
