Hello, I just tried to follow the Course guides, with the idea I just wanted to test bluetooth on the 5inch panel version.

The chip of the 5-inch HMI is ESP32 S3, which doesn't support classic Bluetooth.

Can you confirm that the USB port on this device is limited just to a serial connection? e.g. Think device can never act a hid device.
Answer:
the USB port of this device is only intended for serial connection and does not support HID device functionality. This means that it cannot be used as an HID keyboard or any other HID device, such as a mouse or touch screen.
Due to the limited pins of the ESP32 chip, the D+and D - pins are used as serial ports, so the current version does not support USD HID.

I can not connect to wifi of basic lora gateway module. This module with black box and ssid ELECROW-GW1C. I am not successful with PC or Phone or Laptop.

To connect to the ELECROW-GW1C Wi-Fi, use the password "12345678". If unsuccessful, ensure the gateway's firmware is correctly uploaded and reset the configuration by holding the "BOOT" button for 3 seconds.

the screen is now unresponsive. A red led is on in the back but there is no other sign of life. Perhaps foolishly I did the same with another (new from box) Crowpanel 7.0 - same result. Before the upload the system showed the lvgl demo, but after the upload it is apparently a brick.
Board selection is set to Elecrow Crowpanel 7.0p.
I didn't see any mention of this in discussions so far. Does anyone have any ideas?

The hello world program you downloaded is an example that comes with the Arduino_GFX library and has not been configured according to the hardware circuit of CrowPanel, so it will show black screen.
